Nouvel's Serpentine Pavilion is Red

Not the kind of thing we usually cover, considering that this kind of annoucement has already spread like wildfire by now... But the yearly Serpentine Pavilion is close to the hearts of many. Building Design critic has called Nouvel “a tired and disappointing choice,” while Tom Dyckhoff at The Times said the commission was intriguing at a time when “wow factor architecture” was supposed to be past it, and that it would "either prove there’s life in the old dog yet, or put dancing shoes on a corpse.” Too soon to judge, perhaps, but certainly there's something in Nouvel's design that we've never seen before in the previous editions. It's red. Oh, and there's tennis tables! Actually, that could be fun. Oh wait, the architecture. I dunno, it'd be nice to see some new talent taking some new risks. Just sayin'.
